Ignition are a duo, with Steven on lead vocals and guitar and Jim on lead guitar and harmonies. Their night runs from eighties dance through Britpop, indie and rock to this year's pop, rolled into medleys that go from one big chorus straight into the next, with the biggest floor-fillers played in full between them.
Switching between medleys and full songs is how Ignition keep a mixed crowd happy, because the eighties fans, the indie lot and the ones who only know this year's charts all hear their song within a few minutes of each other. Steven and Jim decide the running order on the night by watching who is dancing, so tell them your must-haves and the songs to avoid, then leave the rest to them. When the slow moment comes, Steven's voice and Jim's harmonies carry your first dance, learned to order if it isn't already in the set. Kristy and Cameron put it best after their wedding at Dalmahoy: the band kept "everyone, from our youngest guests to the oldest, dancing from start to finish."
